Gap Year New Zealand :: your questions :: Can I use my mobile phone in NZ?

Can I use my mobile phone in NZ?

Roaming with your British mobile phone can be an expensive option for a long period of time. We would recommend buying a vodafone pay as you go sim card and putting that in your existing phone. Calls are as little as 15p a minute back to the UK! You can buy one before you leave here.

Before you leave the UK, check that your handset is unlocked by your provider so it will accept sims from other countries. Then, when you arrive in New Zealand you can also visit a Vodafone Shop and buy a pay as you go sim pack. Simple as that! Visit www.vodafone.co.nz for details on tariffs etc.
