Details: Description: How about working with animals, on a small Animal Farmyard Park in Kaikoura, on New Zealand's South Island? We're an English couple who moved to Kaikoura in 2007. We already produce a wide range of fruit and vegetables, and aim to move toward organic and self-sufficiency over the next few years! (Your meals will be based on what we produce!) Animal Farmyard Park ~ has a wide range of animals (ponies, llamas, rabbits, sheep, goats, wallaby, guinea pigs, etc.) You'll get involved in their care, and help welcome visiting families and make sure they enjoy and get the most from their visit. Rental Cottage ~ needs to be kept clean and tidy for our overnight guests. There are also various on-site projects, some seasonal work and general maintenance. Your meals and accommodation are provided in exchange for your work (minimum stay = 1 week. We find most stay a lot longer!) You get your own private double or single room, which is completely separate from the main house. You don't need previous animal or farm experience, but it would be helpful. The work is fairly easy, often loads of fun, and probably suites one or two females, or a couple best. We can pick you up from town if you dont have your own transport.
